People who
have persistent coughing, cold, and difficulty breathing due to lung infections
would be suggested for lung rehabilitation. These people might find it hard to carry on the daily activities due to
these problems. Lung rehabilitation betters the quality of life of these
patients through self-management.
Lung
rehabilitation involves several steps. The first step is checking whether the
diagnosis of the disease which causes these symptoms is correct. The
medications prescribed for the patient and whether they are correctly taking them
are also checked.
The second step suggests extra or alternative medications and therapies available for the condition. If the problem persists, then lung rehabilitation is suggested for the patient. This rehabilitation program is typically designed for 12 weeks. The patient need not be admitted but have to visit the hospital regularly once or twice a week during this period.
