Advanced Treatment for Neurological Problems

There is much-advanced equipment that has made the treatment of
neurology problems more efficient.

Carl Zeiss microscope

This is greatly useful when treating the tumours in the blood vessels. It can clearly show minute things like even the single fibre in the cotton ball. Thus it is very useful for neurosurgeons to operate on the right blood vessel or nerves without even touching the other vessels or nerves. This ensures that the patient recovers quickly without any side effects.

CUSA

Cavitron Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator (CUSA) is used by neurosurgeons to remove the tumour without affecting the vessels nearby. While cutting out the tumour, there might be excessive bleeding which in turn can cause brain inflammation. Using CUSA can control this complication.

CUSA has been widely used now to cut the upper bone layer of the spine. Using this machine cuts down the surgery time greatly and minimises the complications after the surgery.

Other than these, many more instruments make the neurosurgery process easier and more efficient. For example, patients with a blood clot in the brain should be treated immediately. In the past, neurosurgeons had to manually drill through the skull and treat the patient. But now there are equipment that can give access to the brain injury within 3-4 minutes thus helping the patient get treated in the golden hour.

Kauvery Hospital

Kauvery Hospital is one of the very few hospitals in all of South India to have advanced equipment like the Carl Zeiss microscope and CUSA. It also has the best brain doctors and neurosurgeons in Trichy.
